The naked body of an unidentified woman was found on the beach in a nature preserve in Gerritsen Beach Sunday morning. The grisly discovery was made by a local resident walking through Marine Park, near Gerritsen and Lois Avenues. Police sources tell the Post that the body was near the water and close to a footpath that winds through thick brush.
The cause of death is unknown. Parts of the woman's body were burned, but sources tell the tabloid there were no other obvious signs of trauma, and the body was not badly decomposed. Investigators are currently trying to determine "whether there was foul play." [Via A Walk in the Park]
