A woman with cerebral-palsy alleges she was drugged by her physician and taken to a motel, where he had sex with her. Jamie Hooker, 25, called police after the incident occurred last month, but former NYU physician Dr. David Magill was not charged with a crime. A civil complaint against Magill claims that he "overmedicated [Hooker] intentionally so as to make her compliant to defendant's demand that she have sexual relations with him." Magill, who was a cerebral-palsy specialist, "surrendered his license last week and admitted to professional misconduct."
In the Post's account, the headline reads "Palsy gal's bombshell: Doc drugged me for sex," which seems in particularly poor taste given the circumstances, even for the Post. Should women with cerebral palsy really be referred to as "Palsy gals?"
