Hillary Clinton's recent medical woes might not keep her from heading to the big screen soon, but it looks like getting to the Oval Office might be a little more difficult now. The very hard-working Secretary of State has inspired concern among supporters and critics alike of late after suffering from a concussion and subsequent blood clot, and according to an article in today's Times, they suspect her work life has taken a toll on her health.
Clinton's popularity has skyrocketed since becoming Madame Secretary, and she's built up a hefty set of credentials, making her a rumored Democratic frontrunner for 2016. But in four years, she's visited 112 countries (more than any other Secretary of State), traveled 401 days and flown 956,733 air miles, so think about that when you start complaining about having to go to that damn company conference all the way in Minneapolis.
Plus, as if the travel time, workload and long hours alone weren't enough, Clinton is also eating a lot of airplane food, and as we've unfortunately come to learn, a diet consisting of single-serving Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches will slaughter even the strongest of stomach linings over time. “On these trips, you’re in all these different time zones, your body clock is way off schedule, you’re not routinely getting exercise, and you’re not eating healthy food,” former Clinton speechwriter Lissa Muscatine told the Times.
Clinton's said she's looking forward to getting some downtime once she steps down as Secretary at the end of the month. And 2016's still a long way off, which is something we can all be thankful for, because is anyone ready to go through this fourth circle of Hell again?
