For as long as there have been teenagers, they have been making lists of allegedly promiscuous peers, or "sluts," written on bathroom walls, classroom notes, and Facebook pages. And for as long as there have been those lists, so too have there been outraged and shocked parents: a Westchester mother was horrified to learn that her 15-year-old daughter was on just such a list, and she believes "something has to be done."

Angela Viccaro says her daughter, who goes to Harrison High School, was included on a Facebook group page entitled "Westchester SMUT List," which gained more than 7,000 fans in one day. The kids used the word "smut" instead of "slut" to skirt Facebook rules (so at least they're learning something!). The list (which lives on in cache) ranked 100 teen girls by their alleged sexual encounters; after it was posted on Facebook, it was sent to other students via mass messages on their BlackBerrys—not that anyone is questioning why 15 year olds need BlackBerrys. There is allegedly also a male list.

One student told MyFox, "If I was on the list I would think it's the end of the world. Nobody wants to be talked about like that." Dr. James Ruck, the principal of Harrison High, says the school is working on methods to curtail such list-making and punish the behavior: "For any youngster that was involved in doing it, you deserve the consequences that are coming to you. I can tell you, if it is someone in this school, we will press it to the fullest extent." Back in 2009, NJ had to face this same problem when it was revealed that high school upperclasswomen were hazing freshman with their own slut list, like something out of Dazed and Confused.
