After a Good Samaritan helped save a woman who fell into the L train tracks at Union Square on Monday night, practically everyone is eager to know who mystery man is! Wesley Autrey, whose subway heroics of 2007 still amaze us (Autrey crawled over a man have a seizure in the tracks and the 1 train went over their heads!), tells the Daily News, "I would just want him to come forward so the city could recognize him - and so I could meet him. You don't find too many people who are willing to save lives."

On Monday night, Jessica Oshita, a 26-year-old photographer, apparently fainted and fell into the tracks. A man jumped into the tracks and initially tried to lift her out, but since an 8th-Avenue bound train was approaching. So he placed her into the space between between the rails (the "trough") and got back onto the platform. Five cars of the L train rumbled over Oshita, but she survived with just some cuts and hitting her head...and the man was nowhere to be found.

Her dad Gary Oshita said his daughter required stitches for her cuts and may be released today, "“She had her scans, and the doctors said everything looks good," adding, "She does want to thank her rescuers, the paramedics and the person who risked his life for her. I hope that person comes forward. He did a great thing. I would love to meet him and thank him.”
