Rainy, gray skies got you down today? Do not be sad, Elisabetta is here to cheer you up (via WFMU)! The ugly weather this morning is from the same storm that brought snow to the Midwest and deadly tornadoes to the Southeast the past couple of days.

Nothing so violent is expected around New York today. Instead we just need to gut out a rainy, gray, windy day as stiff easterly winds push cool, humid ocean air up over a warm front just to our south. This afternoon's high probably won't escape the 40s.

The rain will be gradually replaced by fog early this evening and both should be gone by midnight. Once the cold front sweeps the moisture away there's not much to talk about in the forecast. Tomorrow should see a mix of sun and clouds and a high near 60. Sunday looks to be slightly cooler but with more sun. Warmer weather arrives for the first half of next week as high pressure slides to the east and the wind starts coming out of the south.
