In the wake of the death of a 34-year-old mother of 13, who was killed in a gang shootout while picking up one of her kids from school, local Brownsville residents started imploring people to "start snitching" to save lives. But after you see the video below, in which a victim is chased down and beaten up for "snitching" after being seen talking to cops, you might understand why it's still easier said than done for many:
The incident took place in the Norwood section of the Bronx. After the victim finishes speaking with police on the street, he is circled by the taunting teens, and eventually is chased down Moshulu Parkway and onto Jerome Avenue. They catch up with him when he runs into the Rainbow Apparel clothing store, where they proceed to viciously beat him for having spoken to cops. Obviously cops don't really have the resources or manpower to be able to guard or monitor all the people who talk to them, but there must be a better way to handle these kinds of situations than watching as they walk to an inevitable beating.
