Last night, the Knicks hosted the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden, and Mayor Bloomberg was courtside to check out the action. Except he ended up being part of it, in a way: After the Spurs' Stephen Jackson took a shot, he stepped back (there was also some contact with Amar'e Stoudemire) and ended up falling on the courtside waitress taking the Mayor's order:
Jackson then left the game with a sprained ankle—and the News called it the Knicks' unofficial 27th assist of the night. As for what Bloomberg was ordering, he apparently was asking for water (according to the broadcast) and he also got some decadent popcorn:
Mayor Bloomberg sitting courtside at Knicks, totally dogging a box of popcorn, which, thanks to him, I know has 780 calories. Dig in, Mayor!

The Spurs will be in Brooklyn, playing the Nets on February 10. Maybe Bloomberg can shoot a free throw?
