The 8-year-old boy who was shot at a Bronx bodega by a gunman on a bike has been recuperating at home this week—Armando Bigo, who still has the bullet in his shoulder, gave a cute, awkward interview with Good Day New York's Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto yesterday morning, telling them he'd like to be a cop when he grows up.

Armando had asked his mother to buy him some chips just before 8 p.m. at the Papa Yala’s Deli on Randall Ave. near St. Lawrence Ave. in Soundview last Tuesday. He was shot in the arm, but he was more concerned about his mother: “I was scared. I ran to my mom. My mom was crying. I didn’t like seeing my mom cry. I don’t remember much else.” He also apologized to the store manager about bleeding on the floor: "He was worried about spitting blood on my floor. I kept telling him not to worry about it....It was crazy. This little boy had just been shot and he still remembered his manners," said manager Mahmood Abdulrub.
Police believe the alleged shooter, 15-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez, had been trying to hit a member of a rival gang. He has been charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon—he faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Rodriguez’s lawyer, Amy Gallicchio, argued in court that he was falsely identified by a witness: “There’s very poor lighting on that block. I think it really casts doubt on the ability to make an identification.” She claimed the lone witness may have had "nefarious" motives in picking him out, and said a second eyewitness wasn't able to identify her client: “We should all be very careful before we jump to conclusions,” Gallicchio said, adding that the shooter’s face was partially covered by a hoodie.
