The 23-year-old woman who was brutally beaten and raped during a vicious attack in Flushing, Queens on Sunday has died. The Post reports, "victim, Yu Yau -- who came to New York from China two months ago -- was taken off life support at New York Hospital, police said." Suspect Carlos Salazar Cruz faces charges including attempted murder, assault, and sexual assault, but the Queens DA previously indicated charges would be raised if Yau died. It's alleged that Cruz, who was extremely drunk, grabbed Yau on her way home from grocery shopping, dragged her into an alley, struck her and raped her with the pipe. A witness called 911 and police were able to arrest Cruz, whose shirt was bloody.
