Earlier this week, the NYPD released video of a suspect in an East Harlem attempted rape. Now, the police have a photograph and say the suspect is 15-year-old Kalief Jackson—who is wanted for questioning in a dozen robberies.
According to the NYPD, Jackson allegedly tried to rob a woman in a building in the 13th Precinct (which covers Flatiron, Gramercy and Stuyvesant Town) on Friday, January 17th at about 8:36 p.m. The 24-year-old victim was in the elevator when he simulated a gun, police say, so she pressed all the buttons in the elevator and screamed. He fled without taking anything.
Then, at 3:30 a.m. on on Sunday, January 19, police say that Jackson threw a 34-year-old to the ground in an East Harlem building and tried to rape her. The victim screamed and he fled. The victim was not injured. Here is video of the suspect:
Police say that Jackson is also wanted for questioning in 11 other Manhattan robberies, including one that involved a sexual assault. They describe him as being about 6'0" and 165 pounds with a thin build, dark complexion, and afro hairstyle.
