Amid the snow storm barreling into the NYC region today, firefighters battled a two alarm fire at Village Paper (which one Yelp user described as, "Like [Halloween], Village Paper is colorful, overstimulating, a little creepy, and wonderfully foolish") in Greenwich Village that began after 7 a.m. Readers sent us these photographs of the scene—one said, "There was a huge bang at around 7:10am this morning that sounded like a tire exploding" and that the FDNY was on the scene within minutes. Currently, the fire is under control.
