Less than a week ago April's average temperature was running almost a degree below normal. That's not the case anymore! The last four days, with one record high and one tie, were 19.75 degrees above average, meaning April will wind up a couple of degrees warmer than normal.

Very pleasant, and much more seasonable, weather is expected today and tomorrow. The tropical air mass has been replaced by a cooler Canadian one. Look for mostly sunny skies and an afternoon high in the lower 60s. Some northern suburbs may even come close to frost tonight. If you are feeling sniffly that's because the maple, oak and birch pollen counts are practically off the charts.

This Canadian high will move offshore late tomorrow night, setting the stage for a rainy weekend. After a warm, cloudy and probably rainy Friday, a cold front is going to move southward and stall over the region for a few days. The stalled front will cause various episodes of rain, showers, and possibly thunderstorms through early next week. Friday's high may reach the mid 70s but look for the rest of the weekend to be cooler.
