In just two weeks, Ted Williams went from living in a tent on the side of a road, to internet stardom, to having all of his dreams come true, and now... to rehab. The formerly homeless man with the golden voice has battled numerous addictions in his life, and once he was in the spotlight, he revisited all of his vices. Dr. Phil encouraged him to go to rehab, and he's currently at Origins Recovery Center in South Padre Island, Texas.
Dr. Phil caught up with Williams at Origins, via phone, and says Williams admitted he turned back to drugs and alcohol just days before he checked in. When asked if he got drunk before rehab, he told the talk show host: "I wasn't staggering around in the hallways or anything or behaving badly. I was a little tipsy, a celebratory tipsy. I know that doesn't make sense but you're probably waiting for me to say, 'Yes, Dr. Phil, I got drunk.' I was very composed." He also admitted to smoking pot, and when asked if he did any other drugs, he simply said, "Yes sir."
Today and tomorrow Dr. Phil will be talking to Williams's girlfriend, also an addict.
