Time to switch parties? According to a new survey of single Americans, "Single Conservative Republicans are more likely to achieve orgasm during sex (53%) than individuals of any other political party, while Liberal Democrats were the least likely (40%)." On the other hand? "Single Conservative Republicans also had the least sex in the last 12 months." So: fewer fornicators, but more orgasms! Vote Republican, and you're voting for efficiency.

That stat comes from Match.com, the online dating market leader which is now playing catchup with OKCupid on the dating-stats front. The site today releases its own singles in America study and it is chock full 'o data! Who knew that while 62% of men and 80% of women say sexual fidelity in a relationship is a "must have," even more of the site's respondents (90%) say that there are "no acceptable excuses" for infidelity in a political candidate. You listening Newt?

Remember to take the stats with a grain of salt (after all, they come from 5,000 singles in the U.S. who agreed to take a survey on the dating site) but once you've done that, there is some good news in there! For instance, 45% of men say they are turned off by a woman who "doesn't care about her career." Go working girls! And there are some surprises, too: "Contrary to popular belief, when dating a new partner, 46% of men and 26% of women would expect to move in together before they’d been dating someone for less than a year."

Other fun facts? Lots of people not only believe in love at first sight, but believe they've experienced it (30% of men and 21% of women), men apparently are much more worried about their weight than their height, more than a third of men and women say they have fallen in love with someone they initially didn't find attractive (whew!) and when it comes to looking for love, gays and lesbians want the same things as straights (education, career, looks, humor, and self-confidence). The full findings should be up here later today.
