After a pilots' strike over wages forced Spirit Airlines to cancel flights since last Saturday, the airline has reached a deal with the pilots and says flights will begin again tomorrow. However, the strike won't be over until the pilots sign a back-to-work agreement; Sean Creed, a Spirit captain and union rep, told the AP, "I think our people will be more than willing to assist the company in getting itself back together and fully operational as soon as we possibly can."

The strike occurred as the summer travel season is picking up, stranding and angering customers (one disgruntled customer said, "It's our vacation. His [my son's] vacation is ruined! Ruined!") Spirit CEO Ben Baldaza said, "We are excited to be back flying with low fares for our customers. Our pilots worked hard to get a mutually favorable deal that allows the Company to grow while improving their wages and benefits. We apologize to those of our customers whose travel was disrupted as a result of the strike and look forward to earning back their trust with ultra-low fares, great service, and the best pilots in the sky.”

The stingy airline is also offering either a "future flight credit for you for the full amount of your unflown flight purchase," plus another $100 credit, to customers or "a full refund instead."
