The 1980s-era classic adult film Deep Inside Annie Sprinkle is making waves again. Allegedly someone has been hawking bootlegged versions of the cinematic masterpiece, and now the Midtown porn company that owns the rights, Evart Enterprises, has filed suit.
They've targeted Mark Johnston of Florida as the main culprit selling low-quality bootleg DVDs under the company name "Shocking Videos," and they're now seeking $180,000 in damages on the grounds of copyright infringement, the Post reports.
So a warning to bootleggers: don't mess with the classics. According to court papers the film "was one of the top-five grossing adult motion pictures in 1982," and is considered a classic of the golden-age of porn.
