Police have arrested a suspect for the murder of a man whose body was found in Queens on Saturday.
According to the NYPD, Alexander Bonich, 49, a resident of Astoria, was charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence in the death of William Klinger.
Klinger, a 42-year-old NJ resident and a historian, was found with a gunshot wound to the head in Astoria Park on Saturday afternoon. A family that had been sledding made the discovery.
According to the Post, Bonich, "a friend" of Klinger's, "was arrested Monday morning at his Queens apartment on 25-66 42nd Street after a brief investigation, police sources said... Sources say Klinger was attending a conference in New York City on the former Yugoslavia following World War II."
