Everybody loves a "controversial" story featuring lots of clickable photos of an attractive woman, so obviously the rest of the local media has jumped on the Village Voice cover story about the Citigroup business banker who says she was fired because her male supervisors found her distracting. There's not much new here that wasn't covered already, but Debbie Lorenzana does give a couple good quotes to the Daily News. "I can't help it that I have curves," she says. "And I'm not going to go eat and gain 50 or 100 pounds because my job wants me to be the same size as everyone else." That's right, we're all a bunch of fat asses.
And her lawyer adds, "All it came down to was, 'We don't want to deal with you, because you're just too good looking.' " Honestly, it's hard to feel too sorry for a woman cursed with a gorgeous physique, but given the crudeness of your average American male, we get how being really, really ridiculously good looking has its downside. "I get harassed in the supermarket with my son just wearing sweatpants with my hair in a ponytail," she insists. But until her attorney sends some high-res photos of Lorenzana shopping in sweats to [email protected], we'll just have to take her word for it. (In the meantime, if you think you're too-hot-for-work, send us a picture of yourself to [email protected]!)
