The Sheriff's Office broke up a sex club where more than 80 people gathered for a party in a section of Queens currently under increased COVID-19 restrictions.
Just after midnight late Saturday night and into Sunday morning, deputy sheriffs got a 311 complaint about a sex club with loud music ongoing on 20th Avenue near 41st Street, leading to an investigation, according to NYC Sheriff Joseph Fucito.
At the event, organized by the company Caligula, investigators said three couples were seen having sex in a small room and more than 80 people total were inside the venue, violating coronavirus restrictions keeping gatherings below 25 people for businesses in the state's "yellow zones." Queens is currently under a yellow zone stretching from parts of Astoria through much of the borough.
The establishment also allegedly violated liquor laws with no license or special permit to sell alcohol to customers.
Woodside, Queens resident Roy Bacoy, 37, was slapped with various charges for allegedly violating emergency health orders, $1,000 fine for violating health codes, and running an unlicensed bottle club and storing liquor.
One patron was also charged with violating emergency orders and disorderly conduct. It is not clear why she was the only patron charged; the Sheriff's Office frequently busts large parties over the weekend to enforce coronavirus gathering rules and typically issues employees or managers desk appearance tickets.

The events include free parking and a bring your own booze amenity in a "no-pressure environment" for "sexual exploration."
The company's website lists ten recent events on its calendar between October 30th and November 13th. It is not clear how many people attended those events. Upcoming events were set for November 22nd, 25th, and 27th.
At the location, a box of condoms and pricing scale for the VIP room were on display, with beds set up for swingers, seen in photos released by the Sheriff's Office.
Caligula did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.
A Manhattan party on West 36th Street near Eighth Avenue with more than 120 people was also broken up overnight. Five people—including an organizer, bartender, a DJ, and two security guards—were issued various misdemeanors, according to the sheriff.
