Victoria Scardigno, the 33-year-old former Continental Airlines ticket who was busted for selling $1 million in fake travel vouchers pled guilty to wire fraud in court today

Scardigno's scam was mind-blowing in its silliness. Over the course of seven months the Newark ticket agent sold roughly 2,100 fake travel vouchers (like the one you get if your plane was canceled) for between $500 and $600. Since they were fake her "customers" kept having trouble redeeming them, so she then spent roughly $600,000 of her own (ill-gotten) money to buy tickets for them!

She was fired in December 2009 after Continental got wind of her schtick. The rest of the money she used to pay off her credit card debt and go on a $15,000 shopping spree at Louis Vuitton.

Scardigno, who is now seeing a shrink, offered no explanation for her crime in federal court today.
