Yesterday, the Daily News was the first to reveal that Jets coach Rex Ryan had lap band surgery on Saturday. How did the Post react? By sending a reporter to his house in NJ for an "unannounced visit."
How unannounced? The Post reports, "Ryan came to the door wearing fleece pajamas covered with Jets logos. The Gang Green fashion statement appeared to be in line with his vow to wear nothing but Jets gear, even during the offseason." Ryan said, "I'm feeling good. I'm feeling fine," and that he'd reveal more details later on.
Today's Ryan-related story from News, which apparently decided against sending a reporter to bother a man recovering from surgery, is simply about how Jets fans are supportive of the 340-pound coach's decision: One said, "He'll be just as nuts, and talk just as much trash." But on Jets Nation, a board moderator posted, "I feel it's my duty to mention that Mangini went downhill fast when he got skinnier."
