Oh, Vito Lopez. The Brooklyn Assemblyman and former Democratic Party boss has been battling sexual harassment accusations (and subsequent payout claims) for a while now, but it turns out the charge that broke the gropey camel's back came from a 24-year-old staffer and her mother: they reportedly called 911 on Lopez last summer after he made inappropriate remarks about a teenage intern, leading to his political disgrace.
Rumors about Lopez leering at his 14-year-old intern started floating around last month. But a Daily News exclusive today dishes out more details, like how Lopez told staffer Chloe Rivera that he liked the "very sexy way" the young intern dressed, and that Rivera needed to "go shopping for sexier clothes." Both Rivera and her mother were so uncomfortable with Lopez's comments that they called 911 and logged a sex harassment/child abuse complaint with the cops. Rivera and another staffer also quit, filing an ethics complaint against Lopez that eventually led Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver to remove him from his position as Brooklyn Party boss.
To make things even more sordid, the intern in question was the daughter of Pam Fisher, a Brooklyn judge whom Lopez helped strong-arm onto the bench, despite her questionable qualifications. And while cops say "nothing of a criminal nature" happened between Lopez and his intern, other staffers have since lodged accusations against the 71-year-old that included kissing and groping two employees, asking staff members not to wear bras and telling them to wear short skirts and heels.
