Police Commissioner Ray Kelly is glad that the latest underwear bomber was thwarted by the feds, but he'd sure like to be briefed on what that device was exactly made of. "This is the type of information quite frankly, that we need, we deserve, in the nation's biggest target," Kelly told NBC. Presumably Kelly added, "Hey did you know that we can probably shoot down aircraft? And that we have officers stationed in Abu Dhabi? Also: we're bigger than the FBI. Wanna see me do 50 one-handed pushups?"

Kelly bemoaned the lack of specifics concerning the device found in news reports, and said he'd like the information "as soon as possible" to "protect the city." Previously the FBI and the NYPD have butted heads on terror raids in Queens and the department's Muslim surveillance program, but had no problem coordinating the interrogations of Occupy Wall Street protesters on arrest warrants, some of which were bogus.
