Tenants at a co-op on 47th Avenue in Woodside are upset about a "restrictive" pet policy (nothing new there)—and some face eviction! According to the Daily News, the co-op board at Big Six Towers, originally built as "an affordable haven for members of the New York Typographical Union-Local 6," prohibits dogs over 40 pounds, limits their presence in hallways, and allows the board to "kick out any pooch that causes 'discomfort, annoyance or nuisance ... inconvenience or causes complaints' to other residents." Plus there's a $100/year dog fee and a $15 monthly fee. A lawyer for a number of the tenants says, "This policy interferes with people's rights under the law. They are charging fees that are unlawful and burdensome."
