A Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting was just awarded to the Associated Press journalists who broke the series of damning reporting on the NYPD's surveillance of Muslims across the Northeast. Surely Ray Kelly, Mayor Bloomberg and the editorial boards of the New York Post and New York Daily News will retract their criticism of the pieces.

Also a winner: The Huffington Post's David Wood, for his "Beyond the Battlefield" series on wounded veterans returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq. Ariana Huffington is very proud. P

Sara Ganim of The Patriot-News of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania won the award for local reporting for her coverage of the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State. Her editor toasted her success in the newsroom shortly after the award was announced.
