Yesterday was a great day for sledding—in sanctioned areas. A 10-year-old boy in Staten Island was injured when he crashed his sled into a tree, at a golf course.
According to DNAinfo, "The boy, sledding in Silver Lake Golf Course near Victory Boulevard, careened into the tree about 4:15 p.m., witnesses and a fire source said. He was strapped to a backboard and rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital.
The Parks Department has lists of sledding areas and adds in bold, "Please note that while sledding is allowed in New York City parks, it is illegal to go sledding on golf courses."
