The scorching hot orbs at Brooklyn Bridge Park have taken the heat off the Bed-Stuy prison playground for a while, but now the latter is back in the headlines. The offensive jail design has been removed and replaced with a space-themed panel (so hot right now).

The prison theme was in place for around six years, but no action was taken to replace it until Black and Brown News reported on it in March, setting off a domino effect of bad press for the city for placing it there.

While Animal reports that kids playing on it yesterday thought it was "cool," the Daily News found one unhappy customer. 42-year-old Lillian Alicea says, "It would have been nice to have a new playground. Everyone's going to think of this as the jail jungle gym." Well, at least they could have replaced the Department of Corrections orange paintjob.
