As if Assemblywoman Carmen Arroyo (D-Bronx) needed more scandal! According to the Daily News, her aide "Wilfredo Nazario, 31, and an accomplice gained entry to a Morrisania apartment on May 18 by telling the two men inside they were cops - even flashing a bogus badge, police said... Nazario and his partner busted down a locked door and took the dough, which the father of one of the men had saved to buy a car." Apparently Nazario, whose accomplice is still at large, heard about the cash through the neighborhood; he was arrested a week later after cops noticed the fake cop gear during a routine traffic stop. Earlier this year, Arroyo's grandson pleaded guilty to stealing over $115,000 from her non-profit—and still remained on her payroll as her chief of staff!
