The man suspected of throwing a molotov cocktail at a Brooklyn deli clerk early Wednesday morning turned himself in to police yesterday. According to the NYPD, Borough Park resident Charles Diaz, 35, is charged with Attempted Murder, Assault, Arson and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The shocking incident was caught on video by security cameras outside and inside the deli, which was instantly filled with flames from the incendiary:

Fortunately the clerk, a 34-year-old Pakistani immigrant named Asif Butt, survived with minor injuries. (Police say his hair and jacket caught on fire.) “It was the perfect shot,” one source told the Post. “The liquid went everywhere and created a wall of fire”

Butt says the dispute started when a sodden Diaz wandered in around 1 a.m. demanding beer and cigarettes for free. "I said I can't give credit because of my boss," Butt told the Daily News. "(I) no talk back. He talk mean, but he left. I thought that was it."

But Diaz allegedly returned an hour later to set Butt and the deli on fire. We have to give reporter Mark Morales credit for getting this heartbreaking quote from Diaz's victim: "I can't believe that this would happen here... I come here to America, I happy, I don't think this would happen same like in Pakistan." Unfortunately Mr. Butt, there are psychopathic jagoffs everywhere, even in Borough Park.
