Do you have today off work? Must be nice. After you finish worshiping at your shrine to George Washington, you'll have the whole day ahead of you to play in the snow, because surely you're not sick of frolicking yet. It's actually quite beautiful out there if you've got no particular place to be, and have accepted the fact that "spring" is just a children's fairy tale that will never, ever come true. At the moment, a few fat snow flakes are still tumbling down, and flurries are expected to continue until later this afternoon, with a total accumulation of 3-5 inches.

Thus ends our 19 days without snow. Things are finally back to normal! NY1 reports that the Department of Sanitation is bringing in 500 workers overnight to operate salt spreaders. A second storm is expected to hit the Northeast tonight, but right now meteorologists expect it to push farther south than the first one and bypass NYC.

So go, enjoy. Drink hot chocolate and go ice skating and roll around in a snowbank with your significant other/pet. This might be your last chance to play in the snow until... Sunday.
