Photos: Sweden's Stunning Subway Stations Vs., Um, The MTA

Meanwhile, back in New York... the MTA has constructed an elaborate series of footbridges to rival the Patagonian Andes.

At least we get to make new friends in the New York subway, unlike those withdrawn, stand-offish Swedes.

A single rainbow. Big deal.

Our subways have detailed signage for easy use and convenience.

Our subway platforms enable riders to enjoy a quick round of tennis while awaiting the next train.

We've got art, too! Olafur Eliasson's famous Waterfalls installation was such a hit the MTA commissioned the artist to recreate it underground.

In NYC subways, workers don't waste their time prettying up the place with a bunch of superficial decorations. They've got work to do.

Wow, impressive countdown clock, Sweden! Really state of the art.
