More than 2,000 counterfeit bills were seized at JFK earlier this month after customs officials found them stuffed in two separate shipments of chintzy crap.

On July 15th, border protection officers were examining a shipment of laminated pictures and their protective cases ("Handycrafts Pictures") when they stumbled upon what turned out to be 1,252 counterfeit $100 bills hidden inside.

The next day, officers examined a shipment of "Handycraft Bags," during which they found another 853 counterfeit benjamins. In total, border protection seized 2,105 counterfeit bills, or $210,500 counterfeit dollars, otherwise known as several pounds of worthless paper.

“The men and women of Customs and Border Protection at JFK Airport continue to be a strong partner in our continued suppression of counterfeit Federal Reserve Notes entering the United States,” John McQuade, resident agent in charge at JFK's Secret Service office, said in a statement.

No arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing. The counterfeit money was destroyed, and the bags and photos were probably tossed in the trash, which is fine, because they were all hideous.
