U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers searching a shipping container at the Red Hook Container Terminal last week opened up a refrigerator unit and found a pretty sizable haul of cocaine. 24.6 pounds of blow were concealed in bricks within the container, which was bound for the Antwerp, Belgium. Sounds like those hard-partying students at the University of Antwerp are gonna have to make do with Red Bull and Adderall for a few more days.
No arrests were made, and the investigation was ongoing. But the U.S. Customs and Border Protection is really on a roll—the discovery comes on the heels another CBP cocaine bust at JFK airport, where officers found 16 pounds of cocaine hidden inside markers, deodorants, nail polish bottles, and buttons.
