City Councilman Peter Vallone, trash police! Vallone, a man of many dislikes, totally won our heart today after a rogue bag of garbage pushed him to the point of sifting through public trash. No, really! But rest assured, Vallone promises us that, "dumpster diving is not in my normal day." But it was today.

The whole thing started when Vallone spotted a large bag of trash blocking up a trash bin next to the Astoria-Ditmars N/Q stop (which happens to be next to his office). The sight of a bag blocking the bin made the councilman so livid that he went back out and photographed it for Facebook. But that wasn't enough. He was angry.

So, still not appeased, Vallone went back out with a staffer and some plastic gloves (whew!) and went through the bag of trash to find out who it belonged to. No seriously. But here, let's just jump to how he captioned the photo he took:

what kind of pig does this? stuffs up the small opening of a public trash can with a bag of your personal home trash? that's why i used some of my discretionary funds on these type cans, so pigs couldnt use them for their home or business garbage. so i took the bag out and went through it. hey konstantinos you left your victorias secret catalog in there. i have your last name and address. expect a visit from sanitation to your pigsty

Seriously, Mr. Konstantinos? He really did call the Sanitation Department on you (expect a fine around $100). So let this be a lesson to all of us. Best not block up the hole in those bottle-necked trash bins with your garbage—Peter Vallone is watching.
