The man who punched a woman over a parking space argument, putting her into a coma, made bail yesterday. Queens electrician Oscar Fuller, who has been previously arrested for assault and drug possession, posted the $100,000 bail to get out of jail for now. But some politicians think defendants like Fuller are too dangerous to be allowed out on bail.

"I'd feel a little more comfortable if he weren't out to argue over a parking spot with my wife - or me! You have to be conscious on some level of someone's propensity to harm the next person if they've done it before," said Brooklyn Councilmember Lewis Fidler yesterday. Fidler and Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr. have called on legislators to change state law and make judges consider a defendants "danger to the community" in bail decisions.

Bronx woman Lana Rosas was holding a parking space on East 14th Street for her boyfriend last week, and refused to let Fuller park his van; the argument escalated, and Fuller punched Rosas "in the face with so much force that the woman flew off her feet," according to court papers. Yesterday, his lawyer argued that he was only acting in self-defense, and didn't intend to hurt her. Rosas remains in a coma in Bellevue Hospital; doctors say that she suffered permanent brain damage from hitting her head in the pavement, and may die.
