The geriatric drama continues in Forest Hills! Seventy-three-year-old Eddie Palmieri canceled his show in Westchester last night, still traumatized by his wife being shot by a neighbor in their building earlier this week. While their 81-year-old downstairs neighbor Maria Cartagena is still being held at Rikers, a source told the Daily News that "there was some concern that [the shooter] will be out on bail, and [Palmieri is] concerned about keeping his family safe and healthy at all costs."

While authorities confirm that Cartagena believed her victim had "romantic designs on her husband," who is nearly 20 years younger than her, Mr. Cartagena insists it was a noise issue. He told the Post, "They were doing this on purpose to annoy us. They did this to drive us nuts. They made enough noise to make her berserk. She would get up at 1:30 a.m. and put on high heels and walk over our bedroom." He clais they called 311 at least 30 times, though the city says they only have 4 calls from that building.

Maria Cartagena was charged with attempted murder, but she maintains that Mrs. Palmieri threatened her first, in a hallway with a pair of scissors.
