The owners of Baby Girl, a 2-year-old pitbull who was shot and killed by cops on Staten Island earlier this month, are seeking retribution for their loss, suing the city on the grounds that the dog was innocent.
The lawsuit was filed by Baby Girl's owner, Patricia Ratz, who denied that the pup had bitten her while on a walk in Schmul Park with two other pits. According to several sources, a fight broke out among the three dogs, and when Ratz tried to separate them, she was bitten. Responding officers pinned the bite on Baby Girl, and proceeded to riddle the animal with bullets, causing wounds that went on to kill her several days later.
But Ratz said Baby Girl wasn't to blame. Lawyer and apparent dog whisperer Ronald Kuby told the Daily News that the dog was not involved in the fight and was, in fact, attempting to avoid the situation altogether. “When a dog is fleeing the scene, it’s because the doggie is afraid, not because the dog is concerned about getting arrested. That’s the reason people flee, not doggies," he said. Thanks for clearing that up, Kuby. Perhaps now you can ask this dog why it has such questionable taste in driving music?
