An on-duty police officer was shot in the leg while on patrol in Crown Heights.

The officer, whose identity has not yet been released, was reportedly shot three times in the right leg on the corner of Empire Boulevard and Utica Avenue just after 5 p.m. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, and is in stable condition. The Post reports that at least six shots were fired in the fracas.

According to police sources, the gun was recovered and one shooter was arrested at the scene, and a second shooter may have been involved. We'll update as more information becomes available.
