Hydrofracking, teacher evaluations, pedestrian murders—Gov. Andrew Cuomo may have one of the most important jobs in the state, but it isn't always the most fascinating one. Lacking the plucky attitude of Mayor Bloomberg or the Popeye grin of Ray Kelly, Cuomo is the least colorful of our major NY public figures (unless you share his love for hot rods). So we find it kind of sad that he felt the need to publicly ask his much more popular brother, ABC anchor Chris Cuomo, for help getting more Twitter followers.
Cuomo, who has just under 20,000 followers as of now, tweeted earlier today, "Hey @ChrisCuomo: Today is #FF, will you help out your older brother and RT @NYGovCuomo to your followers? -GAMC." His brother, who has almost a million followers, ended up complying with his wish ("u my man, bro"), and followed it by tweeting, "how can I deny the gov/guy who taught me how to ride a bike and fish?"
If it's any consolation Cuomo, at least you still have 18,000+ more followers than a certain bat-wielding, bestiality-emailing Buffalo real estate millionaire and failed Gubernatorial candidate.
