Police are looking for a suspect in an attempted kidnapping that occurred yesterday afternoon in Brooklyn.
Just after 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon, a 14-year-old girl was walking home from B’Not Rachel High School on East 7th Street in Sheepshead Bay when a man approached her and put his arm around her. He allegedly said, "come here, come here," and held onto her arm when she tried to run away.
The girl was finally able to wrestle herself free, and the man fled. She was uninjured, but apparently told NYPD officials, "I was afraid for my life."
Police describe the suspect as approximately 20 years old, with brown eyes and short black hair. He is approximately 5'8" tall and 150 lbs, and was last seen wearing a white collared shirt, black jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
The suspect was caught on surveillance video, and the NYPD is hoping the public can help identify him. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
