Late last year, the NYPD asked for the public's help in seeking a suspect in two East Village sexual assault incidents. Now the cops say the same man is behind three additional attacks, including one that happened yesterday, when he pulled a woman's pants down as she opened her door.
Here are the five incidents, as described by the police (they are not in chronological order, but in the order the police announced them), as well as videos from three of the incidents. In all those three incidents, the suspect is wearing a Yankees cap.
Incident #1: On Sunday, December 28, 2014 at approximately 6 a.m., the suspect followed a 22 year-old female victim into an apartment building on East 6 Street and sexually assaulted her in the stairwell. The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to Beth Israel Hospital in stable condition. [Video below]
Incident #2: On Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at approximately 12:45 a.m., a 19 year-old female victim was walking into an elevator in the lobby of an apartment building located on Roosevelt Drive when the suspect entered behind her and grabbed her buttocks and breasts and attempted to forcibly kiss her. A struggle ensued and the victim fled the elevator and the building where again, the suspect grabbed her buttocks before fleeing the location. [Video below]
Incident #3: On Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 6:25 a.m., within the confines of the 9 Precinct, a 25-year-old female victim was entering her apartment building when the suspect entered behind her and grabbed her buttocks. The victim screamed and the suspect fled the scene.
Incident #4: On Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 4:25 a.m., within the confines of the 30 Precinct, a 20-year-old female victim was entering her apartment building when the suspect entered behind her. The suspect grabbed the victim and covered her mouth, and began to forcibly touch her back and buttocks. The suspect then fled the scene.
Incident #5: On Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 2:30 a.m., within the confines of the 5 Precinct, a 31-year-old female victim was opening the door of her apartment building when the suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her waist. The suspect then pulled the victim's pants down and when the victim yelled, the suspect pushed her away and fled the scene. [Video below]
Cops say the suspect is a black male, approximately 5'4" to 5'11", 20-25-years-old, 150-180 lbs., with a dark complexion.
