Whoops! In a scene slightly like one from The Fugitive, a New York City Corrections Department bus carrying 16 inmates flipped this morning on the New York State Thruway between exits 14A and 14B. Except unlike in fiction, this time nobody escaped.
It is still unclear what caused the accident, which occurred around 10:40 a.m., but it appears nobody was hurt and none of the 16 inmates on board made it to sweet, sweet freedom. According to LoHud, "The driver has been taken off the bus. Police are keeping the inmates on board before taking them to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern for medical evaluation."
At the moment all northbound lanes are closed between 14A and 14B.
