Oh man, the writers at The Soup are gonna be so excited about this. Starting Friday Police Commissioner Ray Kelly's very special son Greg will be leaving the evening news behind and returning to his natural habitat: torturing poor Rosanna Scotto on Good Day NY. Hopefully he'll bring the handcuffs back with him!
For reasons that are not entirely clear, David Price, who returned to WNYW and joined Good Day when Kelly moved to the evenings last summer, is now leaving the Fox owned-and-operated station. "I had a great experience returning to Fox5 but it is time to look for opportunities outside WNYW," Price said in a statement. A station insider told Broadcasting & Cable that Price "left on his own and he did not specify his next opportunity."
So what happens now? Steve Lacy, currently the anchor from 4:30-7 a.m., will take over for Kelly on the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. The former he'll do solo and the latter he'll co-anchor with Dari Alexander.
But the really important thing here is that the gaffe-prone Kelly will be back where he belongs starting this Friday. Only thing that could be better is if somehow could switch networks and go get day drunk with Hoda and Kathie Lee.
