Ok, we know we said that the Icicle Audi coverage was getting ridiculous and that we'd move on to other ice-covered objects, but you want to know whatever became of owner Pete Helfer, right? Helfer spent $7,300 in car repairs, and said, "It looks brand new But I'm uneasy about driving it." Well, he won't have to anymore, because a Long Island car dealer agreed to trade him a 2011 Infiniti G37X for the 2008 Audi.

Helfer was ecstatic, saying, "With everything it's been through, my car was probably worth about $20,000, and the new one is at least $40,000." And car dealer David Fine said he was just doing "what he thought Audi should have done in the first place." Of course the deal can't just end there, because the city has not been properly punished for their blatantly letting snow and cold water pile up on the vehicle. Helfer says, "The [insurance] company is going to try to get reimbursed from the city for their negligence. But I just hope this whole thing doesn't result in my premiums going way up." From now on we'll be watching the skies for the next storm, plotting how to get our stuff covered in ice, replaced and paid for by the city. Thanks, America!
