As one rider just Tweeted, "BITE MY LEFT NUT NJ TRANSIT!!!" NJ Transit just suspended service on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Midtown Direct lines due to "an Amtrak power supply problem" for the afternoon/evening commute. And it was just at 7:15 a.m. when NJ Transit had to suspend service due to Amtrak's power issues!
The AP's earlier story about the morning's issue says, "The two incidents this week underscore problems created by aging infrastructure on the heavily traveled Northeast Corridor. Cole says Amtrak has been making improvements to substations and other electrical equipment for several years, but some of the parts date back to World War II."
On Tuesday, NJ Transit and Amtrak service was delayed due to a transformer fire.
