Not on the menu: Police in Evesham, NJ say that a sandwich shop cook deliberately placed a "body hair" in a cop's bagel sandwich because the cop had previously given him many tickets. However, Ryan Burke, who was charged with aggravated assault, told the Courier-Post, "That's ridiculous. I'm not that kind of person."

The paper reports, "Burke said he didn't know of a problem with the sandwich until four officers arrested him in the restaurant's kitchen about 30 minutes after the food went out on Feb. 21." However, the police say, "Further investigation provided information that he indeed placed body hair in his sandwich."

Burke, who was fired and also faces food tampering and retaliation for a past official action charges, says the police are trying to "ruin" his life and revealed that his wife used their mortgage payment to bail him out. And an interesting footnote: The Courier-Post was urged by the town and police not to report about the matter, for fear of "copycat" incidents.
