The hotly-anticipated logo for 1 World Trade Center (the building formerly known as The Freedom Tower) has been revealed. Designed by the UK-based company Wordsearch, the logo uses a customized version of Hoefler & Frere-Jones's Gotham font, which was widely used during Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. The tagline for this bad boy is "New York's Number One," which we can all agree is preferable to "New York's Number Two."

"Unsurpassed in quality and prestige, there can be only one One World Trade Center," Jody Durst, president of the Durst Organization, said in a statement. According to a press release obtained by Capital New York, Cushman & Wakefield says "the logo leverages both conceptual and practical connotations of the word 'One.' On one level, the brand declares that 1 World Trade Center is “first among many” as a part of the world-renowned New York City skyline. The 'One' in the logo emphasizes its status as the Western Hemisphere’s tallest building." (But it doesn't look so tall from one critical angle!) Anyway, eat your heart out, official 9/11 Memorial Flag!
