Natavia Lowery, who was found guilty of murdering her former boss—real estate mogul Linda Stein—back in October of 2007, was sentenced today to 25 years to life in prison. The sentencing was delivered by Justice Richard D. Carruthers, who said, “Ms. Lowery has shown by her actions that she is a very dangerous young woman who acted without regard for any human compassion."

The 28-year-old was charged with 2nd degree murder in February, for beating Stein to death with a blunt object. On the day of the murder Lowery was seen coming and going from Stein's her Upper East Side apartment, eventually leaving with her pants suddenly turned inside-out—which was spotted in the surveillance video. It's believed the two may have gotten into an argument about money, and as the Daily News points out, Lowery will actually be behind bars for a minimum of 32 years, with the additional 7 tacked on for grand larceny (she stole $30,000 from Stein prior to the murder).

Lowery was given a chance to speak today, telling the court, “My innocence will continue to remain. I was never afforded a fair trial. Today is just the beginning of a new fight." Stein's daughter Mandy also addressed the room, saying, "My family has continued to be re-victimized by the aggressive behavior of Miss Lowery's immediate family. I personally was accused by them of carrying out this heinous crime... their actions added a level of torture that was positively cruel." (The Post has her full statement.) Extra security was on hand today due to the tension between the two families.
