A Murray Hill gynecologist just managed to make your next visit even more awkward! The doc has started selling sex toys after his own sex life was revived by vibes. Dr. Andrew Scheinfeld told Details magazine he provides his patients with easy access to bondage and pegging gear, such as handcuffs, masks, and strap-ons—noting people stuck in ruts should mix things up in the bedroom.

To help with the blush-factor, he has patients go through his office manager Brenda Catapano, who pressed a vibrating cock ring against the Details reporter's belly upon his visit! While illustrating how one might wrap it around one's testicles, she noted: "Vibrating against the skin back there, on the gentlemen—definitely a step up. This is a keeper. Whenever I introduce it to the ladies and gentlemen, I always have them feel it, touch it, play with it."

As for the critics? He says, "Most physicians don't get where they are by doing things that are against the rules. By some of my colleagues, this might be ridiculed. You have to do what's right, and this is right for my patients." [via NYMag]

UPDATE:Babeland co-founder Claire Cavanah tells us, "Doctors are in a unique position of trust to work and this is a great opportunity to de-stigmatize sex toys. Babeland does a lot of work with medical providers to educate them about how toys can help their patients with medical conditions ranging from premature ejaculation to an inability to orgasm so we’re encouraged to see a doctor taking this on directly. It’s a good day for the sex-positivity!"
